Depression Counselling Christchurch

Feeling low, unmotivated, or lost can really suck. Depression shows up in many ways - sadness, irritability, brain fog, losing motivation, or feeling empty. You might be trying to stay happy on the outside while feeling numb on the inside. Sometimes the brain goes to scary and dark places without much prompting.

Many people reach out for depression counselling when they feel they can’t manage anymore. Talking with a counsellor can help you make sense of what’s happening, find small steps forward, and begin to reconnect with the parts of life that matter to you.

How I Could Help

My work at the Canterbury Men’s Centre and at Hagley College Cristchurch has given me extensive experience dealing first hand with the effects of depression. My practice involves looking at the story you tell about your life, and working together to create a new one that you would much rather be telling.

In our sessions, we’ll explore how depression turns up. Together we’ll look at the ways it makes things harder for you. It might be making you experience stress, self-hatred, dark memories, or feeling disconnected from the world.

Once we find a story of your life that you prefer, we’ll work together to strengthen it so you can live your life with hope and confidence.
